A licensed psychologist since 1983, Linda S. Karlovec, Ph.D. works with individuals, couples, and families to help them cope with life’s challenges. Dr. Karlovec helps clients deal with building and sustaining relationships; creating balance between work and family; depression and anxiety; and issues associated with spirituality, self-esteem, and physical health.

For many clients, achieving their goals means increasing their capacity for acceptance of themselves and others, empathy and understanding of others, and being able to manage and share their emotions. Dr. Karlovec believes that a positive outcome of a successful counseling relationship is much more than the absence of symptoms or illness. Rather, it’s the sustained ability to enthusiastically engage in all aspects of life: relationships, marriage and family, work, friends, and community.

Dr. Karlovec helped establish the first statewide organization to address suicide prevention. She was also instrumental in leading the effort to create Ohio’s first suicide prevention plan.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Karlovec has worked in business, government, and nonprofit settings providing management coaching, leadership development, and operational improvement consultation.
